PART 1. Learn about The OLD MIKINDANI.

Evolution of mikindani.. ~ (Mikindani). Mikindani was a project of  World Bank to upgrade Mombasa island.

Basically it was Swampy, bushy full of (Mikoma) Palm trees, Mikungu (Tropical Almond) Mikunazi (jujube) ,Mizambarau (Black palm), Miembe (Mango trees), Mikilifi(mwarobaini/NEEM TREE) na Mikinda (Growing Palm), that was plenty giving birth to the name MIKINDANI. By-then there was a slum village at Awanad called Riati a residential for poor individuals whereras they were forcefully evicted and a sign post was put up with readings ----Mikindani thus the origin of the name KIBAONI.
The name KWA MWANZIA  popped up from a popular Kamba business man who used to live there. There lived an Old man (farmer) by name Mzee Bikoi in KWA NG'OMBE who had a herd of cows and tribe of goats in the area.  
 GANAHOLA derived from METHODIST CHURCH in Mikindani from (HOLLAND) who had ACCRA GHANA projects forth GHANAHOLA. 
The name KWA SHEE there was a Sheikh who was poisoned after drinking contaminated poisoned water from the WELL hence Kwashee. The are was mostly known for witchcraft rituals and activities. 
STAFF was well collected and lived Rich people, working class from POSTA STAFFS,RAILWAYS STAFFS and KPA STAFFS. Only two Stages were present at that time  KWA OMARI na KWA CHARO.Those days we had antelopes that were hunted for meat by the young men of those days.
Sunset is a recent name originating from the  guesthouse. Famously business enterprise 
 KULA UNONE gave birth to  kongowea ndogo stage!  
plaza is the building with a bar and rented shops directly opposite AP post built around 1993  and it was famous for chips. Kwa omari for battery charge  opposite kcb Atm and the only omari butchery back then.   
Bangladesh was called Kisumu ndogo.So when Jaramogi was fighting for multi partisam and came from  conference in Dhaka Bangladesh he held the first LUO rally in Mombasa and venue was Kisumu Ndogo and was changed to Bangaladesh 1982. In early 90s Mikindani pimary uniform was yellow in color.

Karanene a swampy place was a playground for area children. At Coast Silos there was a village (Kwahadharani) An elderly man had a Kiosk.  

Nyanya Flora, hada  Mrenda and Mkunde farm along  Mkupe bridge Main Road towards godowns.
